Executive Chef Peter Kitler
Peter Kitler was born and raised in a small town in upstate New York. He was most influenced by his mother, who loved to cook, and he paid close attention in the kitchen. At seven years old, he made his very first meal, a seven-cheese lasagna. Early on, he knew it was his calling to be in the culinary industry.
As a chef, Peter has worked in a variety of different cuisines over the years, and acquired most of his experience and knowledge under the direction of CIA (Culinary Institute of America) graduate John W. Dwyer at the Lexington Grill in Colonie, New York.
In 1997, Peter joined his family in the Dallas Metroplex, and was soon introduced to the field of business dining. This part of the industry allowed Peter to share his knowledge, creativity, and passion through innovative menu planning.
Peter has been married to his wife, Joanna, since 2001. Together they have three children – Caden, 17, Sydney, 14, and Graylyn, 4. When he is not in the kitchen, Peter enjoys attending church with his family every week, being a part-time ice hockey referee, and spending quality one-on-one time with each of his children. Other hobbies include golf, wood-working, home improvements, fishing and bowling.
Executive Director, Maria Alonzo, LVN
Maria Alonzo’s career as a Licensed Vocational Nurse, or LVN, has stretched from nursing in hospital settings (such as ICU, DOU, medical surgical, acute and post-acute rehabilitation) to treatment and infection-control nurse. And it wasn’t just her patients who benefited from Maria’s expertise – she took on staff development responsibilities and assisted 20 certified nurses (RNs and LVNs) in remaining compliant through Continuing Education Units (CEU).
Upon realizing her passion for the senior community, Maria served as Executive Director for multiple assisted living communities. Maria holds licenses in California and Washington, plus a Compact license, allowing her to serve in 26 other states.
Maria’s personal integrity and high standards for resident care led to communities in Texas and California that ran citation-free. Most recently, Maria traveled across the U.S., restoring best practices, organization, and superior standard of care for communities in need.
Maria has a true love for nursing and dedication to the well-being of her residents. She is extremely dedicated to all her residents at Lake Point Assisted Living.
Executive Director, Hazel Rodriguez, LVN
Hazel Rodriguez is from Southern California and began working in the senior living industry at the age of 19. While working, she obtained a minor in Sociology from Pasadena City College, transferred to Mount Saint Mary’s college, and graduated with a nursing degree. Hazel has a passion for caring for seniors, and says it has been one of the most rewarding and adventurous experiences in her life.
Hazel moved to Texas for the opportunity with Lake Point, and has already become a Cowboys fan! She enjoys attending soccer and basketball games, reading, writing, gardening, and planning vacations – she loves to travel! Hazel enjoys sharing these experiences with her four boys.
Chief Community Advocate Kathleen Storey
Kathleen Storey has over ten years of experience as a senior living expert. Her high-energy leadership and innovative approach have been key to her exceeding sales and marketing goals throughout her career. With a previous management position at Harbor Retirement, Kathleen was promoted from Sales Manager to Executive Director in a few short years. Then at Integrated Senior Living, she was Regional Marketing Director and oversaw multiple outstanding local sales teams.
Kathleen grew up in South Carolina and graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelors of Arts in Public Relations. She now resides in Celina, TX with her husband and two children. Kathleen looks forward to helping Lake Point continue growing!
